Business Tourism Boost for Fife
Fife was highlighted as a top business tourism destination earlier this month during the recent Scotland Means Business (SMB) biannual workshop held on the shores of Loch Lomond.
The workshop, organised by VisitScotland Business Tourism Unit and held at the De Vere Deluxe Cameron House Hotel on the shores of Loch Lommond, is designed to bring together Scottish tourism businesses and buyers from key businesses looking to host conferences or corporate functions in Scotland.
Around 50 international meeting planners from across the globe attended the Scotland Means Business workshop, along with 50 Scottish partners showcasing some of the best venues, suppliers and event providers Scotland has to offer.
As part of the workshop a Russian delegation were given the opportunity to take part in familiarisation trips and a visit to Fife’s Myres Castle gave the delegation a taste of what Fife and Scotland has to offers as a business tourism destination.
Business tourism is now worth over £911 million to the Scottish economy and each year, over 2.8 million business trips are made to Scotland with the average business spending more than twice than that of a leisure tourist.
