The next dining club organised by the Grampian Food Forum will take place at The Albyn Restaurant, Albyn Place, Aberdeen at 6.30pm on Monday 28th April. Full details will be issued in due course. - Moray Food Producers Fayre
On 30th April, HIE Moray is hosting a local food showcase at Innes House near Elgin. Food producers and suppliers from the Moray area will exhibit their quality produce to the hospitality industry from Moray, Inverness, Strathspey and Grampian. The event will also feature a cookery demonstration by local food champion Wendy Barrie.
Reducing food miles and using local and regional foodstuffs have become even more desirable for consumers in recent times. HIE Moray are encouraging businesses to capitalise on the availability of Moray’s excellent food and drink to enhance their visitor’s experience. The event begins at 2pm.

- Grampian Chef of the Year
Hospitality Training, in association with the Grampian Food Forum, will host the annual Grampian Chef of the Year competition on Monday 26th May 2008. This unique event will attract some of Grampian’s top chefs to compete at a live cook off at Aberdeen College followed by the awards presentation dinner at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa that evening.
The competition aims to raise the levels of culinary excellence in the North East and promote the imaginative use of fresh, locally sourced seasonal ingredients and is open to professional chefs, who work for a restaurant, hotel, or catering company in Grampian.

The annual food and drink festival will take place for the 9th year on Saturday 7 June at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie. The event was launched at a recent dining club where Nick Nairn was guest speaker and already the majority of exhibition stands have been sold. This year’s celebrity chefs are Tony Tobin and Simon Rimmer who will also be joined by Alan Coxon.
