Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue Service now employs a Bi-Lingual Community Safety Advocate. One of the main aspects of this role is to promote fire safety in the workplace and homes of migrant workers.

The main focus is to work with employers in the Highland and Islands area to offer FREE safety presentations to their migrant staff and to promote the uptake of FREE Home Fire Safety visits to migrant residents. They are aware that there might be some language and cultural differences with migrant workers moving into, and living in the area. Their role is to offer support and advice which caters for all migrant families.
