Renfrewshire tourism operators have been getting frisky with their business cards and trying out some of their best lines on each other at a ‘speed dating’ event held at Braehead’s Xscape complex.
Local businesses had one minute to charm each other and make exciting new contacts at a launch reception for the Renfrewshire Tourism Partnership.
The speed dating part of the launch reception was organised to highlight the importance of cross-selling: a first principle for tourism growth that will be championed by the new partnership.
The Renfrewshire Tourism Partnership is a new body bringing together players from both public and private sectors to drive forward local tourism priorities in an integrated way and develop a growth strategy that will make Renfrewshire one of Scottish tourism’s biggest success stories.
The partnership will be chaired by Steve Ireland of Cosmopolitan Hotels, which operates Renfrewshire’s Normandy and Erskine Bridge hotels. The body will also include representation from VisitScotland, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, Renfrewshire Council and the area’s leading private sector tourism businesses.
