New Mary, Queen of Scots Trail proves popular

VisitScotland and all four local authorities across Edinburgh and Lothians have been working jointly to develop the Mary, Queen of Scots Trail initiative.

Mary, Queen of Scots has touch points throughout the Edinburgh and Lothians area and beyond, and the trail highlights the range of attractions and things to see and do linked to her life, including Dunbar Castle, Tantallon Castle, Hailes Castle and Lennoxlove House in East Lothian.

A web page at
www.edinburgh.org/queenofscots was live for Easter 2008 with a trail generated through Google Maps and spotlights on More on Mary, Tickets (Historic Scotland & National Trust for Scotland), Discover the Lothians and Do You Have Stewart Heritage?; linking through to VisitScotland’s ancestral site at www.ancestralscotland.com.

In addition the web page is now profiled on VisitScotland’s citybreaks website citybreaks.visitscotland.com , the heritage website liveit.visitscotland.com and on VisitScotland’s US gateway site www.cometoscotland.com

The Trail is already proving popular with over a thousand visits to the web page since it went live on 20 March.
