Borders ‘Flying’ High on National Fishing Campaign

VisitScotland has got together with Trout & Salmon Magazine to give readers information on finding the perfect fishing holiday in Scotland.

The national ‘Fishing Postcard’ promotion will be in the Trout & Salmon Magazine’s April edition – out now – which reaches an audience of 49,000.

The direct mail highlights the variety of fishing that is available in Scotland throughout the year with features on the Scottish Borders as well as the Hebrides and Aberdeenshire.

Trout and Salmon Magazine is one of the UK's best known game-fishing magazines and every month features articles written by angling experts and offers expert advice for anyone interested in fishing whether it be salmon, brown trout, rainbow trout or sea-trout fishing.

The direct mail aims to persuade people to request the Fish in Scotland 2008 brochure or a local Scottish Borders, Outer Hebrides or Aberdeenshire Guide. The campaign is also a tool to increase names on the VisitScotland database with people interested in fishing and direct people to www.visitscotland.com/fish.

The national Fishing Guide for 2008, which features the Scottish Borders on its front cover, will be used for all fishing enquiries in response to advertising, direct mail campaigns, consumer exhibitions and online brochure requests. It will also be distributed via TICs throughout the UK.
