Online training opportunities for tourism businesses and professionals

VisitScotland offers a host of online training opportunities to the tourism industry, through Tourist Board Training (TBT), aimed at enhancing knowledge of specialist niche markets.

Topics covered include addressing the needs of specific sectors, how businesses and communities can best promote to these markets, and how they can profit from meeting the specialised requirements of customers within niche markets.

Workshops include:

• Ancestral Tourism, ideal for those with an interest in meeting the needs of ancestral tourists. Key features include flexible access, video clips and images, secure login, interactive, engaging and discussion board. Participation in this course is £25.00 per person plus VAT.

• Cairngorms Connections - a free course aimed at those who deal with visitors to the Cairngorms National Park.

• Scotland – Yours to Discover, another free online training service aimed at refreshing your knowledge of Scotland. Relevant to all those working in the tourism industry, from B&Bs to TICs, the course takes an overview of the Scottish tourism product and includes history, geography and a detailed look at the tourism product on a regional level.
