Food Festival secures funding

Shetland’s Food Festival has been successful in round nine of EventScotland’s Regional events Programme, it was announced last week. The event will be awarded £14,400 to help with the funding of PR and marketing activity.

The programme supports the development of sporting and cultural events and festivals taking place outside the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and to date has supported more than 150 events across the country, investing almost £2million through nine rounds of its regional events funding programme.

Paul Bush, Chief Operating Officer of EventScotland, said:  "The Regional Events Programme is a great opportunity for events across Scotland to achieve their growth ambitions.

"We are looking forward to receiving the next round of applications for the programme in August which will be open to all eligible events taking place throughout 2009."

The next deadline for applications to the programme is August 1, 2008 – more information can be found on the EventScotland website
