A new flight operated by Loganair will allow island hopping in the extreme north. The new scheduled flight departs from North Ronaldsay, the most northerly of the Orkney Islands, and travels to the even more remote location of Fair Isle.

The flight is aimed at the more adventurous traveller with an interest in remote areas, but with the abundance of seabirds and wildlife on both North Ronaldsay and Fair Isle, also provides a great opportunity for nature fans and bird watchers.

Jim Cameron, Chief Executive of Loganair said, “We are confident that a link between the two bird-watching destinations of Fair Isle and North Ronaldsay will encourage increased eco-tourism to the islands as well as improving links between Fair Isle and Orkney”.

The new service has been welcomed by the National Trust who also run the Bird Observatory in Fair Isle.
