New guides set to attract visitors to Perthshire
The importance of attracting visitors to Perthshire has been intensified by VisitScotland with the launch of the area’s new Accommodation and Explore guides.
The brand new Perthshire Where to Stay and Explore Perthshire guides will be available in tourist information centres across Scotland and the north of England. The guides have a combined print run of 250,000 and will be sent to a specially targeted database and used in various marketing campaigns throughout 2007.
Both guides are an invaluable source of information for potential visitors to the Perthshire area. The Where to Stay guide provides a comprehensive listing of quality assured accommodation in Perthshire and year on year proves to be a huge hit with visitors.
Over 450 accommodation providers are displayed in the guide and range from five star international resorts to inexpensive B&Bs and self catering farm cottages to family-run inns and hotels. Grading and accreditation paired with the information on how to book using www.visitscotland.com are also integral parts of the guide. General events information and an insight into the golf and adventure market are also covered.
Things to see and do in Perthshire are all displayed in the Explore Perthshire guide. Over 150 activity businesses with something to offer visitors are pulled together and displayed in one easy to use publication.
History and heritage, museums and collections, Perthshire’s Big Tree Country, the countryside and nature are all important aspects of what makes Perthshire the ideal destination for tranquillity and relaxation. In contrast the great outdoors provides everything for the more adventurous with quad biking, white water rafting, golf and some of the most exhilarating walks in Scotland.
Vicki Miller, VisitScotland Perthshire, said: “Both these guides provide a wealth of information for visitors and potential visitors to the area. We want to ensure that a trip to Perthshire is made simple and hassle free and I believe that both these guides go a long way to achieving this. The guides are an integral part of tourism in the area and a vitally important tool for attracting visitors."
The guide also features a competition to win a stay at the long established Green Park Hotel. The four star hotel – an ideal base for touring Perthshire – is situated on the outskirts of Pitlochry in a unique situation by the still waters of Loch Faskally.
