Look out over the coming months for two new websites being produced by VisitScotland Outer Hebrides as part of the niche suite of sites incorporated under www.visithebrides.com

FoodHebrides.com will be marketing places to eat and sources of local produce in the Hebrides and will be an excellent resource both for visitors and locals alike and will include a good food route throughout the Hebrides.

GreenHebrides will meet the requirements of and encourage participation in the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The main aim of the campaign is to enhance environmental awareness in the Outer Hebrides.

The project will also strengthen the development and promotion of products that underpin the area’s status as a green destination eg. Wildlife, walking, cycling, sailing, outdoor sports and marine tourism. It will also enable potential visitors to gather information and make best decisions on travelling throughout the islands as well as assisting the location retain its environmental standing.
