Support for Gaelic in the Workplace
The following courses are organised by Gaelic Learners Organisation Cli Gàidhlig:
Gaelic Classes in the Workplace
Workplace classes for organisations whose staff would benefit from a knowledge of Gaelic and can tailor classes to the particular needs of the organisation. Customers have included Scottish Natural Heritage, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and Highland Council.
Gaelic Awareness
With the Gaelic Language Act giving new responsibilities to public bodies to promote the language, there is a growing need for staff to appreciate the benefits of using Gaelic. Clì provides a one-day “Gaelic Awareness” course, in English, for groups and individuals who want to raise their consciousness of the language and its regeneration. The course will show you why Gaelic is so important to Scotland and how to:
· pronounce the Gaelic greeting “Ciamar a tha thu?”
· read and understand Gaelic place-names
· tell a tourist where Gaelic came from.
