This year House of Beauly are expanding their annual Celtic Festival to celebrate Celtic history and folklore from around Britain, (Scotland, Cornwall and Wales), Ireland and France through ancient and modern cultural links.

The 2008 Festival will run from Sunday 8 March to Sunday 6 April and will incorporate Art, Craft, Music, Fashion, Food and Jewellery. Particular highlights will include:

  • Workshops with Sheila Fleet Jewellery, St Andrews Pottery, Nick Vaughan Contemporary acrylic paintings & Trompe L'oeil Artist, Highland Stoneware, Wesley Snipes Wood Sculpture, Welsh Woman of the year Carrie Elspeth.
  • Celtic food and drink with numerous tastings from suppliers such as Bailliefirth Farm with their superb quality meats, Summer Isles & Ullapool Smokehouses, various quality Highland bakeries, to Duncan Taylor Whisky suppliers.
  • Live Celtic music - both established and young musicians
  • Author Judy Patterson, will be reciting her book 'Scottish Folk Tales for Children' to local school children here at the House of Beauly.

There will be a Fashion Show presented by Charles Morgan's of Inverness in Phipps Hall Beauly, professionally choreographed and with professional models, the show will be a two hour spectacular.

Finally, prior to the Celtic Festival commencing on Saturday 8 March 2008, the First Minister, The Right Honourable Alex Salmond will be visiting The House of Beauly on Monday 25 February 2008, to officially open the new premier Food Hall, now five times the size of the previous hall.
