VisitScotland is launching the latest brochure for the Outer Hebrides. Aimed at a worldwide market, it forms the backbone of the marketing activity for the Islands in 2007.
A total of 80,000 copies are produced and promoted through the VisitScotland central database and other marketing campaigns by VisitScotland marketing staff in the Outer Hebrides. Large quantities are also made available for display and handing out at major travel trade fairs and other exhibitions throughout the UK, Europe and North America. With nearly 500 tourism businesses featured, the brochure is also an integral part of the marketing activity for local tourism products and services via Tourist Information Centres.
Area Director, Angus Macmillan, said: “This publication is giving the Outer Hebrides a head start on other areas in providing potential visitors with the information they require as soon as their thoughts turn to next year’s holidays. It's an excellent brochure evocatively describing many of the delights of our islands and is sure to be much appreciated by those considering a holiday to the Outer Hebrides which is now seen to be a special destination”.
Tourism has enjoyed another successful year throughout the Highlands and Islands in 2006 and feedback reported by many tourism businesses within the Outer Hebrides show that this trend has been mirrored in our Islands.
