Cash boost for Orkney Boat Museum

The Hall of Clestrain in Orphir has gone one step further on the road to becoming the Orkney Boat Museum with a donation from the Heritage Lottery Fund of £46,400 for the planning phase of the restoration project.

The venue has succeeded in maintaining a high profile in recent years as one of the entries in BBC’s Resoration series in 2004, and now supported by Big Brother 2003 winner and local hero Cameron Stout.

The creation of the new museum is being managed by the Friends of the Orkney Boat Museum – for further information log onto www.orkneyboatmuseum.org.uk/
