Tartan Clef awards need your live act nominations

Music fans are being asked to nominate the best live music performances seen and heard in Scotland.

The first ever People’s Choice Tartan Clef Award celebrating Scotland’s world-class reputation for great live music was recently launched on www.VirtualFestivals.co.uk
 - Google’s top-ranked web domain for music festivals.

VisitScotland - in association with HMV - are launching this new award category to encourage music lovers to visit www.visitscotland.com/bestliveact
and nominate for the Best Live Act in 2007/08.

People can nominate any live act that has performed in Scotland from June last year to August this year - from last year’s festival highlights such as the Guillemots or KT Tunstall at the Outsider Festival in Rothiemurchus, Primal Scream or King Creosote at last year’s Connect festival or the Foo Fighters or Amy Macdonald at last year’s T in the Fringe in Edinburgh (renamed the EDge for 2008); to those predicted to perform some memorable live sets in 2008 such as Scouting for Girls or Idlewild at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and Kasabian or Franz Ferdinand at Connect.
Top choices from the nominations will be put to a public vote later this year.
