Owners of the “Success Story” businesses, which are showcased on the Tourism Foodkit, will be among those sharing their good food secrets on Day Two of Scotland Food & Drink’s first national conference.
The 2-day conference will be held at The Gleneagles Hotel on 12th and 13th February and delegates may attend for both or just one of the days.
While the production and marketing of food will be the focus of Day One, the emphasis of Day Two - themed “Enriching the Visitor Experience” - will be the importance of good food in tourism. Current research indicates conclusively that the majority of visitors to Scotland hope to find a distinctive cuisine with quality Scottish ingredients and local specialities.
Hospitality businesses that recognise and provide for this can reap significant business benefits. Jim Anderson from Anderson’s in Fortrose and Ian Richards from Forss House Hotel in Thurso are among those who feature in the Success Stories section of the Tourism Foodkit and are providing “Soundbites” at the prestigious conference. Each will explain how their use of fresh locally-sourced produce and imaginative food presentation has helped differentiate their business and brought success.
