As part of VisitScotland’s ongoing work in the key developing overseas markets, over seventy of China and Hong Kong’s top tourism leaders came to Scotland in November to see for themselves that Scotland is a must visit destination. It was the first time many of the members of the International China Tourist Association (ICTA) had been to Scotland. It was the first time ICTA had held its annual conference in the UK since 1980.
During their week-long visit they sampled the delights of Edinburgh, Perthshire and the Highlands.
VisitScotland is also leading a trade delegation of seven Scottish suppliers on a sales mission to include opportunities to meet key travel trade representatives in Beijing and Shanghai in a series of workshops, sales appointments and networking dinners.
Another forthcoming opportunity is a sales mission to the Middle East, featuring meetings with key travel trade decision makers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The event will take place between the 2 – 6 February 2008 and spaces are available, with more information available through your local Business Relationship Manager.
