Scotland United - Wednesday 5 March 2008

The Scottish tourism industry’s conference, Scotland United, returns this year as the highlight of Scottish Tourism Week 2008 (4 – 11 March). Jim Mather, Minister of Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, will open the event, which has a theme of ‘Invest in Scottish Tourism,’ on Wednesday 5th March at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Scotland United: Invest in Scottish Tourism, presented by the Scottish Tourism Forum and BHA Scotland, is the ideal event for all businesses which are involved in, are suppliers to, or are affected by the tourism sector to come together to explore opportunities, be inspired by best practice cast studies and hear stimulating presentations from industry leaders. Compelling arguments will be made for investing in Scotland and for investing in your business and your staff.

Experienced broadcaster Bill Mcfarlane is the facilitator for the day and speakers will include:

  • Iain Herbert, Chief Executive, Scottish Tourism Forum;
  • Debbie Taylor, General Manager , Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa at St Andrews and Chair of BHA Scotland;
  • Stephen Leckie, Managing Director, Crieff Hydro Ltd;

There will also be an update from the Homecoming Scotland team on tourism opportunities in 2009.
