There are still opportunities to take part in the pan-Euro cities campaign via web travel deals and e-communications.
The theme of the pan-Euro cities campaign is, 6 festivals, 6 friends, 36 reasons to celebrate. The winter festivals across both Edinburgh and Glasgow are central to all communications, driving consumers to enter one of a series of six competitions on our city gateway sites. Consumers can win a weekend for 6 people at one of the events.
The three competitions so far have seen ever-increasing numbers of entrants – 12,200 for Hallowe’en in Edinburgh, 20,700 for Fiddle 2007, 23,400 for Edinburgh’s Christmas. The current competition (until 29 November 2007) is for Glasgow’s Hogmanay, to be followed by Celtic Connections and Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Visual Arts.
A further measure of the campaign success is the number of website visits – 136,000 to the sites from the start of the campaign on 10 September to late October. France in particular saw October visits 700% up on last year.
