100k Welcomes
Find out how the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyroodhouse have benefited from 100k Welcomes training and also about future 100k Welcomes programmes coming up in September.

A highly successful and motivational 100k Welcomes Leadership Programme was held for The Palace of Holyroodhouse on 31 May and 1 June 2007 where 9 managers attended. The course was led by Jennifer Medcalf of Tall Poppies Scotland, one of over twenty licensed 100k welcomes trainers throughout Scotland. The Leadership course is designed to support ‘leaders at all levels’ and the objective of this two day course is to build an understanding of how the Scottish experience is livered through great service

Due to the success of the Leadership course it was decided that it would be a good idea to try to organise the training of front line staff (Operations Course) in conjunction with another organisation, namely the neighbouring Scottish Parliament, who independently had been keen to do the training for both front line staff and also managers. The joint event took place over two days at the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood.

The objective was to encourage a heightened awareness of the customer experience at both venues. Both businesses are similar as their core role is not specifically centred on the visitor (one being a working Parliament and one being a working royal palace) so it seemed likely that the two organisations could, and did, learn from each other's experiences.

The course will be delivered through a motivated, productive and loyal team and will take place on Tuesday 25 September 2007 at 9.30am - 430pm in Dumfries.
