STF’s new Chief Executive Iain Herbert will unveil the Forum’s priorities for the year ahead and delegates will hear from industry and public sector experts on legislative developments which will impact on tourism, including an update from John Brown, the Scottish Executive’s Deputy Director Tourism and Whisky Legislation. You can also learn about the Scotland Climate Change Initiative, the Tourism Innovation Group’s exciting, industry-led, voluntary carbon offset scheme.

An afternoon debate on food will follow a networking lunch and will explore current concerns around food production and sourcing and will highlight what customers want and expect from food providers in the tourism industry. This debate is critical for hotels, restaurants, B&B’s, retailers, visitor attractions, pubs, cafes & visitor attractions: food is a crucial element of the customer experience, one we must ensure we get right. How do businesses find the right balance between quality and cost control? Can there be a conflict between “food miles” and organically produced food? Some of Scotland’s most outspoken commentators on this issue will lead a stirring audience discussion.
