Wildlife pack proves a hit with Scots school kids

An education pack designed to inspire Scottish children about the nation’s wildlife has been praised by teachers. VisitScotland devised the free resource for schools last year following research which showed that fewer Scots are influenced to holiday in Scotland by the country’s amazing wildlife than international visitors.

The pack, which featured ‘Scottish Wildlife Trump’ cards and an interactive classroom poster, was devised by VisitScotland to raise awareness among children and families about the fantastic wildlife on their doorstep.

Over 2,000 wildlife packs and 43,000 ‘Scottish Wildlife Trumps’ cards were requested by schools across Scotland. Research with teachers who received the pack has shown that it fitted well into the science curriculum and was a highlight for pupils.
