Work continues in Scotland’s key developing markets
The next issue of the VisitScotland (printed) Asia and Middle East newsletter will be published in late September in English, Chinese and Japanese. This issue will be distributed at a series of travel trade events, including the Japan trade workshop in October, China Sales Mission, Scotland the Home of Golf Challenge Day in November and also the 2008 Middle East Mission in January. The newsletter will also be used in a direct mail to travel trade database and given out at all incoming trade familiarisation trips.
The VisitBritain Japan trade workshop/mission is now in its 19th year. VisitScotland is joining this event to meet key decision makers and tour planners in Tokyo over 4 days from 1st - 4th October and Scotland’s presence in Japanese tour operator brochures has increased since last year’s workshop. 2007 also sees the beginning of retirement for the first wave of Japanese baby boomers.
Following the success of the first Scotland the Home of Golf Challenge Day last year, this year VisitScotland combines its first Scotland only China Sales Mission with the Golf Day. Partners can expect to establish contact with key travel trade contacts in China during the sales meeting in addition to networking at the event in Shanghai where VisitScotland’s and partner’s key accounts are invited. The mission will be held from 15th – 23rd November in Shanghai.
