From Saturday 2 June until Sunday 1 July, food lovers in Aberdeen City and Shire will be able to experience some of the area’s finest fare for a fixed price of £15 as VisitScotland launches its popular Dine Around offer in the region.

The promotion is being run as part of VisitScotland’s Dine Around deal which has already proved a huge success in Edinburgh and Glasgow and elsewhere in Scotland, generating over half a million pounds in additional sales for participants since its launch in January 2005. Over 150 restaurants, from the Borders to the Highlands, have participated in VisitScotland’s nine Dine Around promotions to date.

The national tourism organisation has invested £13,000 in the latest Dine Around Aberdeen City and Shire promotion with 11 restaurants including Halo Restaurant and The Square in Aberdeen, and also Lodge on the Loch in Aboyne, already having signed up to participate.

VisitScotland Area Director for Aberdeen and Grampian, Ian Dunlop, said: “Dine Around has proved a real success story in other parts of Scotland, with some 90 percent of restaurant owners enthusiastic about running a repeat promotion. Research carried out by VisitScotland revealed that 50 percent of customers were newcomers to the restaurant. This goes to show that tourism is everyone’s business and that this promotion is a great opportunity for restaurants to reach new audiences and show off their high quality fare."
