Web In A Box for B&B and Guest House providers - April launch

B&B and Guest House providers are being offered an innovative and cost effective way of generating bookings thanks to a new product being launched next month by VisitScotland.com. Web In A Box will offer small business providers a fully customised self-branded website which will be connected live to the VisitScotland.com booking engine.

The Web In A Box package includes a simple layout tool for updating availability, pricing and information that is shared by the contact centre and each of the nation’s 118 Tourist Information Centres.

With VisitScotland.com hosting 6 million unique visitors each year and recent research indicating that 30% of these people are actively shopping for accommodation, Web In A Box has the potential to transform small businesses in how they connect with consumers online. Online sales continue to be the fastest growing area of business with booking revenue up in 2006 by 46%.

The pricing structure is very competitive with commission charges waived for bookings which are made directly with the providers own website. Instead, a one-off annual fee applies and is available from as little as £50.

Web In A Box is one of three new marketing packages now available at VisitScotland.com, delivered as a result of its new technology platform created by global destination management specialists, Tiscover.

An improved Standard Web Listing package now includes a comprehensive brochure style feature on businesses with up to 8 pages of information and as many as 15 images. This package is available within the VisitScotland marketing opportunities package.

Also, available for the first time is a Direct Listing Package geared towards providers who wish to market and sell their properties directly with their customers. This product gives a new level of choice to the provider by effectively encouraging the consumer to contact property owners directly for availability, pricing and information.
