Scottish tourism industry open meeting
There’s still time to book a place at the Scottish Tourism Forum industry open meeting, 'Profitable Growth for a Sustainable Future: 50% growth – how do ‘we’ do it?', at Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel, near Stirling, on 5 December. Hear from industry and public sector leaders of the emerging policies which will support the targeted profitable growth of Scottish tourism.
The Tourism Framework for Change sets a target of growing tourism in Scotland by 50% by 2015. Many have been asking ‘50% of what?’ and, more importantly, where will the growth come from to achieve the growth target?
Agenda The Scottish Executive will outline the five themes that have been developed to support the TFFC and delegates will also hear from Scottish Enterprise regarding their strategy to work with tourism. VisitScotland will outline: where we could see this growth coming from, in which sector, where, by volume or by additional spend per visitor?
We will also run through a case study of how the proposed new Licensing bill could affect your business and delegates will get a preview of final plans for Highland 2007
The STF will also expand on the tourism manifesto that is being used to lobby the political parties on tourism matters as they in turn prepare their own manifestos for the elections in May 2007.
Why should I attend? This critical meeting will advance the issues and ideas which were debated at the Scotland’s Strategic Future event (DeVere Cameron House, Loch Lomond, 20 Nov 2006). Each delegate will receive papers circulated to the delegates attending the Cameron House event. Delegates will have an unrivalled opportunity to hear first hand from the public sector agencies of the new, emerging policies which will support the profitable growth of our industry.
Who is it aimed at? Tourism business interested in the future of our industry and anyone involved in or interested in the tourism sector.
