Traditional Music to Swing St Andrews Day to Life
A Programme of traditional music sessions to celebrate St Andrews Day will take place across Scotland. From Aberdeen to Inverary; Moffatt to Fort William – pubs will be alive with the sound of traditional Scottish music. VisitScotland has teamed up with brewers of Scotland’s number one ale McEwan’s to promote these events.
Research commissioned by VisitScotland earlier in the year found that more than 50% of people surveyed said they felt closer to Scottish culture as a result of attending a traditional music session, with 79% saying that they would recommend this type of event to friends and family.
The music, atmosphere and the fact that Scottish traditional music was something different to do were some of the main reasons visitors enjoyed the traditional music sessions, according to the survey.
McEwan’s Sessions are already held throughout the year in venues across Scotland. The St Andrews Day programme is available here.
