Highland Council Seminar

The Highland Council recently hosted their 6th annual tourism seminar with this year’s theme being community tourism.

Examples of different community approaches to attracting visitors included Alness in Bloom, Invergordon Off the Wall murals project, Castle Douglas – Food Town, Crieff & Strathdearn Drovers’ Tryst and Walkers are Welcome towns.

Passionate speakers and a good follow up discussion with members of the audience meant many delegates left with ideas of how they might develop their community’s tourism appeal further – something the Council’s Tourism Team is keen to assist with.

More information including contacts, a summary of the presentations and downloadable copies of the full presentations are now available on the Highland Council website at www.highland.gov.uk/leisureandtourism/tourism/tourismdevelopment/seminar.htm
