Rural community carbon network - call for support

A national programme is being developed to support communities who are working to reduce their carbon footprint.

The programme, developed by Ruralnet UK and the Carnegie Rural Community Development Programme, aims to raise awareness of the actions that rural communities can take in response to the climate change challenge. It will build on existing, isolated community action and will support other rural groups who wish to take collective action by providing access to an online panel of experts, good practice toolkits and a mentoring service linked to a small grants programme.

Ruralnet UK are currently undertaking research into where groups are located, what their experiences have been and also how easy or difficult it has been to access funding, support and advice.

To share your community’s experience, please contact Samantha Adams by email: s.adams@ruralnet.org.uk.
