Fortingall Hotel Scoops award for green environmental policy

Fortingall Hotel’s commitment to reducing their environmental impact was reinforced last night at the Hotel Review Scotland Awards with the accolade of ‘Rising Star Green Hotel’.

Manager Ellie Miles was delighted. “The whole team here at Fortingall has worked extremely hard to highlight our existing green policies as well as initiate new energy, waste and water saving practices. This award reflects our commitment to this and rewards everyone’s work.”

This Rising Star Green award comes hot on the heels of the recent Gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Together, these show Fortingall Hotel is at the forefront of trying to promote sustainable tourism – by limiting the environmental impact from the hotel and, where possible, their guests.

The hotel also achieved a ‘Special Commendation in the Country Sports Hotel category, for its welcome shown to sporting guests and the facilities that it offers them, such as packed lunches, gun storage and drying rooms.

Other Perthshire businesses to receive awards included Gleneagles, Killiecrankie Hotel, Tigh na Leigh, Alyth, Ballathie House Hotel, Stanley, Four Seasons Hotel, St Fillans.
