Visitors to Cambus O'May and Pannanich forests in Upper Deeside are being urged by Forestry Commission Scotland rangers to take extra care when exercising in the woods this summer in order to help respect and preserve valuable wildlife habitat.
The Commission is particularly keen to remind visitors that there are capercaillie present in the forests. A variety of conservation work to protect the capercaillie is on-going including habitat enhancement, thinning of Scots Pine and population monitoring. To complement this important work, members of the public are being asked to play their part in the conservation process by responsibly using the forests and adhering to information signs located throughout the forest.
Dog walkers are asked to keep their dogs on leads until August and all forest users are reminded of their responsibilities under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
