The Murray Arms Hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet is offering visitors something a bit different. Their ‘bike and hike’ package not only offers visitors the chance to explore the stunning Dumfries and Galloway countryside and wildlife, but encourages them to use only sustainable modes of travel!
In co-operation with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG), the hotel has put together a two day ‘Our Country’ family ‘bike and hike’ package. Providing bikes and a packed lunch, the hotel has planned a route by the glorious Cally Gardens and past the former Estate mansion, before heading down to the Estate’s private beach, Sandgreen.
The package also includes a bespoke nature trail designed in co-operation with the FWAG. The nature trail gives guests the chance to explore the private Estate and farm, learn what happens on farms in the UK, and spot some of Scotland’s wildlife along the way.
