Summer brings extra helpings for city restaurants

Glasgow’s restaurants have enjoyed one of their best ever Augusts this year, thanks to the huge success of the city’s third Dine Around Glasgow £15 menu promotion, which has raked in almost a quarter of a million pounds.

Sponsored by VisitScotland, the promotion at member eateries of the Glasgow Restaurateurs Association has run throughout August for the last three years.

This year, Dine Around Glasgow bookings rose again, generating over 10,000 covers in the four-week run, worth in excess of £225,000 to Glasgow’s kitchens - a rise of 67% on last year.

The idea is simple: over 60 of Glasgow’s best restaurants cooked up a special promotional menu for just £15, or a £25 gourmet option in selected cases, to bring in increased business during the peak holiday period.
