How to connect with arts audiences

Cultural Connections: Glasgow Grows Audiences conference 2008
Friday 6 June 2008
The National Piping Centre, Glasgow

There’s still time to sign up for this year’s conference for anyone who wants to attract and engage with more audiences for arts and culture.

Cultural Connections will look at what could happen to public interest in arts and culture if we extended our influence by enhancing the integration of existing networks. Could we be doing more to exploit the potential of our combined impact? Or do we simply need to focus on harnessing our individual resources to encourage people to ‘get out more’?

Cultural Connections 08 will feature well over 20 guest speakers, lively ‘Question Time’ style debate and professional and personal development sessions that will challenge attitudes and assumptions. Plus, the return of the fast-paced, light-hearted Pecha Kucha style ‘Chit Chat’, and an awards ceremony to round off the day.

Speakers include:

  • broadcaster Janice Forsyth,
  • acting chief executive of the Scottish Arts Council Jim Tough,
  • DADA managing director Oli Norman,
  • National Theatre of Scotland artistic director Vicky Featherstone
  • and chief executive of VisitScotland.com, Marco Trufelli.
