The celebs were out in force last month, when VisitScotland and partner VOGUE.com threw a fabulous party at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge to celebrate Burns Night… with a stylishly Glaswegian twist.

Among the 300 guests were a host of celebrities including TV presenter Jenni Falconer, actor Dougray Scott, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, top Glaswegian fashion designer Christopher Kane, ‘The Mighty Boosh’ star Noel Fielding and host DJ for the night, Edith Bowman.

VisitScotland devised the hugely successful event to promote Glasgow and Edinburgh city breaks to affluent professionals in the south of England. It was subsidised by the Scottish Government and Glasgow:Edinburgh Collaboration and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau.

Partnership with a national tourism agency is a first for both Harvey Nichols and VOGUE.com whose joint objective is to showcase Scotland as creative and cutting edge cities for music, fashion, food and drink.

This latest Scotland promotion to target Londoners builds on a steady programme of activity throughout 2007 that has included advertising in London Underground and sponsorship of the London Gathering.
