New Year brings some changes to VisitScotland’s Industry Engagement team in George Square. Read on to meet your Glasgow team for 2008.

Gordon Smith has been promoted to the position of Business Relationship & Marketing Manager, following the departure of Keith Paterson in December. Gordon now welcomes Gillian MacKay as the new team’s Business Relationship Manager.

Gillian will be the main contact for local tourism businesses in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Valley, providing information on marketing opportunities through visitscotland.com, print publications and tourist information centres.

A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Gillian started working for the former Greater Glasgow & Clyde Valley Tourist Board in 1998 and for the last eight years she has been Customer Services Supervisor at the Glasgow Tourist Information Centre.

“I am really looking forward to the opportunity of working with a new sector for VisitScotland. I hope to build on some existing relationships with customers and forging some new ones,” said Gillian.

Gordon Smith will already be a familiar face to businesses, having held the BRM role since 2005. Both he and Gillian will be meeting local trade over the coming months to discuss campaigns for the year ahead.
