How much do you know about Ancestral Tourism?

Ancestral Tourism Workshop:
Friday 8 December
Forth Valley College, Falkirk

Ancestral tourism is big business for Scotland. But how much do you know about what your visitors need, and what VisitScotland is already doing for them?

This workshop has been developed to recognise this growing market and to ensure that all tourism operators are maximising the potential benefits to their business and at the same time, meeting the needs of the ancestral tourists through the provision of quality service and information.

In conjunction with the workshop, the Quality and Standards Department of VisitScotland has developed Ancestral Tourists Welcome. The workshop provides one route of access to the scheme and with a little bit of work and meeting the criteria, the scheme gives you the opportunity to demonstrate that you have at least a minimum knowledge about ancestral tourism and your business commits and adheres to a code of conduct.

The workshop is suitable for any business with people in the frontline, such as accommodation, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions.

Cost is £50 + VAT, including lunch, refreshments and an information pack. For more information or to book a place, contact Tourist Board Training on 01294 313006 or e-mail tbt@tbt.visitscotland.com
