Huge success of Glasgow’s second Dine Around promotion throughout August has prompted VisitScotland and Glasgow Restaurateurs Association to team up again for the city’s first winter Dine Around in January.

Sponsored by VisitScotland, the £15 menu promotion has run throughout August for the last two years and with great results. This year, Dine Around generated over 9,000 covers in its four-week run, worth in the region of £135,000 to Glasgow’s kitchens.

Scheduled to coincide with the 2007 Celtic Connections festival, a new Dine Around will run from 8 January to 5 February at restaurants across the city. In a new development, participating venues will have the option of either the traditional £15 bargain menu or a £25 gourmet option.

“January is traditionally downtime for restaurants, so there’s real room for growth,” says VisitScotland area director Tom McWilliam.

“Our summer Dine Around promotions have shown that people will go out to eat when the offer is right. Combine that with the Celtic Connections festival, and we’ve got a window of opportunity to make a real difference to the restaurant sector in Glasgow.”
