Tomorrow’s Tourism: Choosing Our Future
Following this year’s hugely successful conference, Fife tourism businesses will be coming together again on Tuesday 26 February 2008 at Balbirnie House Hotel, Markinch to explore how tourism is developing and how each business fits into the overall plan for Fife.
Like the weather, tourism is constantly changing, so come along, hear what’s new and share your views.
- Share the vision of the Scottish Government’s independent advisor, Jan Bebbington. A New Zealander, Jan is Professor of Accounting and Sustainable Development at the School of Management, St Andrews University, and also Vice Chair of the Sustainable Development Commission. Jan will outline her thought-provoking vision of the future environment for tourism.
- Be inspired by and pick up invaluable tips from one of the best managers in the business, Debbie Taylor, the new General Manager at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews. Previously GM at the Balmoral in Edinburgh, Debbie has a much-deserved reputation for innovative people development and high standards of customer service.
- Hear about the success of the Scottish Liqueur Centre and how it is performing in a highly competitive market. Investment has led to the profitable development of the visitor centre, retail outlet and production facilities.
- Get an update on the Fife Tourism Strategy from the Fife Tourism Alliance.
- Enjoy a networking lunch and join in a tasting session while viewing the exhibition.
- Benefit from comprehensive workshop sessions showcasing practical business solutions to marketing, customer service, recruitment and retention and other topical issues.
- Celebrate with us the presentation of awards to local businesses and participate in a prize draw.
- Take this opportunity to have your say.
The conference is free of charge to Fife businesses but places are restricted. However, organisations that register before Christmas are guaranteed attendance.
To secure a place simply e-mail your name and organisation to fife@springboarduk.org.uk
