Midlothian launches new Tourism Action Plan

Midlothian Provost Councillor Adam Montgomery launched the Midlothian Tourism Action Plan 2008-10 last month at Dalhousie Castle and Spa.

The Action Plan is the result of a collaboration between:

  • Midlothian Council,
  • Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian,
  • VisitScotland Edinburgh and Lothian Network Office
  • and the private sector (represented by the Midlothian Tourism Forum).

The plan is designed to give a major boost to expansion of the tourism sector, which is a vital part of Midlothian's new economy, accounting for around 22% of jobs in the area, and aims to provide a template for development and expansion over the next three years.
