Marketing boost for Emirates Rugby Sevens Event
The Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens returns to the capital for a weekend Festival of Rugby (31 May – 1 June 2008).
Sixteen teams from all over the rugby playing world will be participating including New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Fiji, England and Scotland.
In a bid to encourage more people to come to Edinburgh to attend the Emirates Sevens event, VisitScotland is complementing the Scottish Rugby Union’s marketing activity for this event with radio and regional press activity outwith Scotland, including Leicester, Bath and Gloucester.
To encourage people to visit visitscotland’s rugby website www.visitscotland.com/rugby and www.edinburgh7s.com there will be a competition offering 12 lucky winners a trip to Edinburgh and the Rugby Sevens.
With more big events on the weekend of 31 May - 1 June, including Taste of Edinburgh, Leith Festival and Gardening Scotland – the capital is set to have a bumper weekend.
