Edinburgh is a Luxury Destination and “A’ That
VisitScotland has teamed up with luxury retailer Harvey Nichols and VOGUE.COM to host a prestigious celebrity event in London this Burn’s night to promote Edinburgh and Glasgow as high quality tourism destinations.
The Scottish event, partially funded by the Scottish Government and the Glasgow:Edinburgh Collaboration, will take place on Friday 25th January in Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge, where VisitScotland will promote Edinburgh and Glasgow city breaks to affluent professionals in the south of England.
Amongst the 300 guests attending are a host of Scottish celebrities including TV presenter Jenni Falconer, top Glaswegian fashion designer Christopher Kane and host DJ for the night, Edith Bowman.
Partnership with a national tourism agency is a first for both Harvey Nichols and VOGUE.COM whose joint objective is to showcase Scotland as creative and cutting edge, featuring current music, fashion, food and drink.
This latest Scotland promotion to target Londoners builds on a steady programme of activity through 2007 that has included advertising in London Underground and sponsorship of the London Gathering.
