Edinburgh Goes Underground to Boost Tourism

VisitScotland Edinburgh and Lothians is joining forces with GNER and the Edinburgh City Region Brand to create a high profile campaign aimed at enticing London commuters to Edinburgh.

A poster featuring eye-catching visuals of some of Edinburgh’s most familiar landmarks is due to be hung at 100 Underground stations across the UK capital for two weeks from 29 January 2007.

Linda Galt, VisitScotland Product Manager, said: “We hope this will make a big impact with commuters by getting the message across on how affordable and accessible a visit to Edinburgh from London can be.”

“This is the first time we have worked together with GNER on such a campaign and as well as promoting Edinburgh as a great location, we are hopeful that the timing of the advertising can bring people into Edinburgh out of the peak tourist season.”
