Dumfries & Galloway Cafés is the Icing on the Cake for Visitors

10 Dumfries & Galloway cafés are joining forces with tourism businesses around the area to help give visitors a sweeter taste to Dumfries & Galloway.
The new Café Days website www.visitscotland.com/cafedays shows visitors where they can get a great cuppa and cake while on holiday as well as promoting the attractions and activities they can experience in the surrounding area.
Over 200 cafes across the country are taking part in the new VisitScotland Café Days campaign which saw more than 3700 people sending in descriptions of their favourite holiday café experiences.
One such person described the Garden Tea Room at Dalbeattie “the cuisine would guarantee your return the situation is pure magic, relaxing and peaceful. The food and especially the cakes and scones are to die for.” Kitty's Tearoom in New Galloway also received praise with a visitor from Ayrshire saying “Recipe for a perfect date - a first time visit to Kitty's Tearoom in the picturesque, quaint village of New Galloway. We were thrilled with our surroundings and it was an absolutely delightful experience! This was truly an afternoon to remember!”
Gallie Craig at Mull of Galloway was described by one visitor as “This café is amazing. All home cooking and the home baking is just mouth watering. Problem is which cake to choose! Wish I could go more often”,
VisitScotland has designed the £40,000 campaign to encourage cafés and other tourism businesses to work closely to promote each others’ services to visitors through personal recommendations and information on the website.
