VisitScotland Dumfries & Galloway Marketing Executive Karen Wilson is in the driver’s seat for the latest drive to attract visitors to the area with the launch of the Winter White Campaign.
Karen Wilson was in a stunning E-Type Jag (the Jag is available for hire from Motorparty) – to mark the start of VisitScotland Dumfries & Galloway’s Winter White campaign, which showcases some of the best things to see and do in the region at this time of year.
Motorparty is just one of the many Dumfries & Galloway businesses and attractions promoted in the campaign which features the brilliant “white” side to Dumfries & Galloway, by surprising consumers with the volume of “white” things to see and do with a particular focus on the fantastic winter wildlife throughout the area.
Building on the success of last year’s Winter Postcards campaign, which was shortlisted for a Marketing Society Business Excellence award, activity this year includes:
- Direct Mail to 50,000 consumers with the themes Food & Drink, Wild & Wonderful, and Activities and Attractions as well as the Winter Offers.
- An electronic Direct Mail going out to 10,000 customers, press and pr activity and www.visitdumfriesandgalloway.co.uk/winterwhite will have seasonal pages featuring winter breaks, early booking rates for 2008 and ideas of white things to do across the region.
- The campaign also promotes businesses offering special deals on accommodation over the winter months. Accommodation businesses have provided winter offers for the Direct Mail and website ranging from 4 nights for 3, 3 nights for 2 as well as 3 nights for £99 and there are some great early bird booking offers for 2008. Over and above this we have selected attraction/shopping offers.
- As part of the national campaign the area is also highlighted on the national website www.visitscotland.com/white with all the winter white ideas and offers across Scotland.
