The 2008 Scottish Borders Awards, supported by principal sponsor Thus, aim to showcase the best in the Borders. It is both a celebration of the achievements of businesses, individuals and community groups and an opportunity to showcase how each of these has contributed to the success of the Scottish Borders as a whole.

The New Ways Community Planning Partnership is seeking applications from individuals and organisations of all shapes and sizes that have, over the last twelve months, been successful in their own line of work or activity and have had a positive impact on the Scottish Borders.

A reminder that the Scottish Borders Awards are now open for applications across 7 categories:
- Young Ambassador, sponsored by Tesco
- Business Excellence, sponsored by New Ways
- Best Community Project, sponsored by Sykes
- Innovation in Environmental Improvement, sponsored by Scottish Natural Heritage and the Forestry
Commission
- Best Use of IT in a Tourism-related Business, sponsored by THUS
- Excellence in Skills and Learning, sponsored by Heriot Watt, learndirect Scotland and Borders College
- Promoting Health and Well-Being- sponsored by Borders Sport and Leisure Trust.

The closing date for submission of completed entry forms is Friday 6th June 2008.

The Awards will be presented at a gala dinner which will take place on Friday 3rd October 2008 at Springwood Park, Kelso, hosted once again by Jill Douglas.

Tickets are priced £45 plus VAT and include drinks and canapés on arrival, 3 courses plus wine, coffee and entertainment.
