As many of you know, the Hawick Tourist Information Centre has moved into Tower Mill in the centre of the Heart of Hawick Campus which will enable us to offer an all year round service to our visitors.

The new position is in a high profile location making it highly visible particularly to pedestrians and traffic travelling south along the High Street.

The new Heart of Hawick campus is proving to be a popular visitor attraction having already attracted many more customers than was initially anticipated.

Hawick Tourist Information Centre has been located within Drumlanrig’s Tower for several years and currently welcomes around 14,000 visitors between Easter and October each year. The new site will allow VisitScotland to continue the excellent service provision putting VisitScotland in an excellent position to attract more visitors into the Centre. Extending the provision will increase our opportunity to inspire visitors and encourage them to stay in the area longer and consequently increase the economic benefit to Hawick and the Scottish Borders.

Work is almost complete in our new location and our Customer Service Advisors Chris, Frances and Andrew, who have been providing a temporary service over the winter months are naturally excited about seeing the total move complete and welcoming you to their new location. We have the desk in place and the retail units are expected to be installed in the next couple of weeks.

If you haven't already been into the complex you really should - its brilliant, there is the cinema/theatre, Beanscene who not only have live music in the evenings (call the TIC or check out the cinema leaflet for details) they also have great coffee, cakes, and food.
