Officials and representatives from participating clubs, and VisitScotland Borders attended the end of season meeting at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in St Boswells.

Various points were discussed regarding the previous year and an overview was given by VisitScotland Borders on the local golf marketing and the Freedom of the Fairways customer the Scottish Borders has welcomed this year.

A steering group has been formed to explore the future of the Freedom of the Fairways scheme for 2009 and how we can take both the product and golf in the Scottish Borders forward. Representatives from 5 courses will sit on this group and work with VisitScotland Borders staff and external agencies as appropriate.

The pass prices for 2008 were agreed as follows:

Winners of the most visitor friendly courses were also announced at the meeting; voted on by purchasers of the Freedom of the Fairways passports.

Winners were:
18 Hole Winner - The Hirsel
18 Hole Runner up - Torwoodlee

9 Hole Winner - St Boswells
9 Hole Runner up - Melrose
