Bright White Snowdrop Delight

Seven Gardens in the Scottish Borders are opening their gates to green fingered visitors over the next two months to celebrate the second ever Scottish Snowdrop Festival.

They are among over 50 gardens across Scotland taking part in the event which showcases the best snowdrop gardens in woodlands and estates across Scotland, many of which open exclusively for the festival.

VisitScotland has teamed up with some of the country’s most spectacular gardens including:

  • Mellerstain Gardens
  • Kailzie Gardens
  • Floors Castle
  • Bowhill Country Park
  • Cringletie House
  • Dawyck Botanic Gardens
  • and Dryburgh Abbey in the Scottish Borders.

Sandrine Contier-Lawrie, Marketing Director for the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course and Floors Castle said “In the next few weeks we will see an explosion of white through our gardens as Snowdrops pop up and create a wonderful attraction for visitors to experience. This is the second year we have taken part in the Snowdrop Festival and we hope it’s just as successful as last year.”

Assisted by its partners Dobbies Garden Centre, Scotland's Gardens Scheme and the National Trust for Scotland the VisitScotland Scottish Snowdrop Festival will take place from the 1 February until 16 March.
